Khalsa Helping Hands is an Charitable Trust in India directly benefiting children as well as the families every year, through live welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood. Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one's awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behavior to understanding one's rights – and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen.
Education
1 in 11 children go to work when they should be in school. When it is hard to afford necessities like food, shelter, and clothing; education becomes a luxury that the poor give up. Illiteracy then leads to further poverty.
Healthcare
2.4 million Indians die of treatable conditions every year! Healthcare is a luxury which is inaccessible for the poor. Health cannot be a privilege. Give them a chance to fight their illnesses.
Livelihood
India has a surplus of close to 50 million working people while there is a shortage of 40+ million skilled working people. Only with quality training can underprivileged youth find opportunities for better employment.
